No start when cold

Hey there, new Chevy owner and looking for some answers.  A couple of weeks ago I was getting off work and my truck would not start.  Tried jumping it but wouldn’t do it.  Had a relative come pick me up and when i went to leave, i tried to fire it up one more time and it started.  Had a few loss communication codes pop up.  Replaced battery that morning since it was 3 years old. 
 

Next morning same thing, no start then it started a while after.  

 

Next day after no start at all and wouldn’t start for a couple days.  Meanwhile it is cold, less the 40s all three times. Stablitrack service, Trailer Brake system, and low fuel warning was lit on my dash.  Battery voltage was good when check with multi meter.  Had U0100, U0101, U0073 all pop up when this happened.

 

Week after this problem started,  starter was replaced and all grounds and fuses are good.  After the day it was replaced, fired right up and ran good for a few days.  Then stopped starting for like a day, then hasn’t had any problems starting since.  

 

Fast forward, to this morning, same issue. No start,  everything was normal when putting keys in the ignition, all dash lights come up as normal.  Go to start and nothing happens, only check engine light stays on.

What year would be helpful. 

You say no start, does it turn over but won't start? Useful info.

And how many miles on your truck? Biggest issue with what you describe is Bad Grounds. Remove them, clean them & reattach. Even add some. 

 

 

Some good info here.

Start with the simple stuff before shooting the parts cannon.

I didn't watch the whole video but it didn't mention the ground strap behind the right front fender liner that is a very common problem.

It’s a 2018 silverado 15000 lt.  Has just over 120,000 miles on it.   When putting the keys in the ignition, dash lights up normally and goes through its process.  When going to start, it won’t turn over, and there is no clicking coming from anything when attempting to start.  No attempt from the engine when trying to start.

Could be several things. But my 1st thought is a bad starter. Try tapping it lightly to see if that makes any difference.

Any chance you have an older Range AFM Disabler plugged into the OBDII port?

Replaced the starter a few days after the first day it did it.  Got the old one tested and was shot so replaced and still had the same issue.  Nothing plugged into the OBD port that can see either .

I would check the large fuse links on the battery power distribution fuse block that's on top of the battery next. See if any nuts are loose on the connector wire or any fuse blown.

Update:

 

Currently 54 degrees where I am and she starts up like normal.  Seems to only be when it is cold outside.  Would that change what i should be looking for?

New parts can be bad, including the battery. Have it tested, or put a voltmeter on it an watch how many volts drop when starting.

 

Next time it won't start; use jumper cables to create a ground from the engine to the battery. This will help rule out any bad grounds.

Did you find a solution.....?  I am having the same issue cold weather mornings vs warm weather mornings.
