Bought new, 2019, been over 5 years so just wondering if anyone has replaced theirs. what's a top quality battery to buy?

Depends on where the battery lives and how it's being used.

(heat is harder on them than cold -- as long as they are charged)

There has been a large fleet of batteries around here - cars/trucks/motorcycles/garden tractors/farm tractors/forklifts/backhoes/excavators/combines....

With my usage and location I expect battery life to be about 7 years and I don't change until they give an indication they are dying (like unusually slow cranking)

Despite my 'expectation' some only last a few years and some go longer than 7 (which is why I don't change until the battery indicates there may be an issue.

If a battery has ever been deeply discharged but is able to be 'revived', it's life will have be shortened.  (of course, 12v batteries cannot always be revived)

I wouldn't change it unless it's giving 'warnings'.

Whatever is in it seems to be giving good life -- why not repeat when the time comes?

Good point.

My Silverado here in Northern Ohio sees plenty of cold weather, I just had brakes done for the first time and got to looking at suggested maintenance coming up, battery being one of the items.

It still cranks strong, so I won't worry until it slows down.

FWIW, I automatically turn off the stop start as soon as I start the engine.

I'm a few miles from the north shore of Lake Erie -- so we should have similar weather.

I will say to stick with the OEM battery. I had a new XS Power D4800 battery that was only a year old from my old 2014 silverado and it worked fine but I noticed when it was cold outside the voltage at crank when auto stop/start was working would drop down to 9v which is very low for a battery. The battery was also a AGM but seemed to have a weaker cold cranking amp rating than the GM OEM battery. The XS Power battery also was smaller than the GM battery for it's length and I noticed whenever the truck would crank during auto stop/start the radios screen would black out for a second then come back on.

I just threw the OEM battery back in my truck and it's been just fine. I also reinstalled the 370A Mechman alternator I had from my last truck on my new silverado since it doesn't hurt to have it in there.

One item to watch out for is the posts on the battery are different sizes. I want to say the positive terminal was smaller than the negative terminal. This made me have to use 2 sets of posts on the battery to make it work.

After checking on a battery replacement for my 2020 6.2L  I decided the factory battery had the best spec's.

Others may disagree with me but I have been using AC Delco batteries for over 40 years. I always get the highest cold cranking amperage that will fit in the vehicle.
