Key off - non powered circuit?

Good day all….trying to install a camera in my 2025 3500HD. Need a key off unpowered circuit. Been through the left and right fuse boxes and it seems all fuses remained powered. Let the truck sit for a bit to eliminate RAP circuits. Have not tried the engine compartment fuses as I don’t want run a wire though the firewall. What am I missing here?

You might want to go with a units that attaches to the ODBC port. I did go with thinkware units, it has a lot of functionality when the vehicle is parked and monitors the battery voltage and lane drifting.

Anyway the ODBC direction might be a better way.

Fuse F26 and that auxiliary power pin in picture on the passenger's side fuse box can be used as an ACC source. I used the aux pin for my seat heaters and dash cam.

One other way to do this install is to start with the Upfitter kit. The additional fuse box allows for 4 of the switches to be on all the time or ignition controlled.

I just installed my Blackvue dash cam off this system and it works as expected.

The challenge is going to be installing the upfitter kit which is a bigger job.

Running the camera off the ODBII port is a great idea but in my case, I have a Banks monitor plugged into the port.

The ODBCII is a pass thru but the ODBC is needed for this device as it monitors your vehicles status, park mode, driving mode, low battery etc, but I get the point.

This is the way. Its the same spot I used for both my dash cam as well as the turn-on signal for my underseat amp/ sub combo.

Does this allow your vehicle cameras to monitor the surroundings when it is parked and turn off?

Thats entirely dependent on the dash cam you use. For that feature, it would require a hot at all times feed, in addition to a switched ignition/ accessory feed as discussed above. For mine, it does have a "sentry" mode that has to be connected to B+, as well as the aforementioned ignition circuit.

I parked the my truck after returning from at trip yesterday and left my dash cam switch turned on (by mistake). Tonight I noticed my dash cam was on so I turned it off. I am using AUX 2 for the dash cam and it can be configured to be hot all the time or controlled by the ignition.
