I have a 25 Denali 6.2. When I go to pass another vehicle and jump on the gas it goes like a bat out of hell. When I back off the throttle it seems to want to keep the RPMs up for a bit. Does this sound like a normal occurance for these truvks.

It also keeps the RPM's higher like that when you let off the throttle because it's anticipating that you may get right back into the throttle. The transmission is already in the right gear and the rpms are higher so there is less work needing to be done. These are also torque based operating systems, everything needs to align with torque figures, time, throttle movement among various things, then it will drop back down into overdrive.

The throttle response is why I added a evcX to my truck. Now my throttle response is great.

Yes.  It goes into basically a performance shift mode.  The truck is expecting more (staying in the pedal).  As you let out it then realizes you are done with your passing move and then will shift up gears and lower RPM.
