I’ve got a Borla ATAK muffler on my Silverado. Took a cruise from San Antonio to Austin and, as expected, it’s really loud.

I came across Borla’s rear muffler kit (Part #60679) that’s supposed to convert the ATAK system into an S-Type setup:

Has anyone here actually made that swap? Was the sound difference noticeable enough to be worth it?

I’ve got a family road trip to Colorado in December, and I’d rather not have my wife and daughter complaining the entire drive.

I’m a little spoiled because I always had a reputable exhaust guy who built my custom exhaust for at least 40 years. I did one custom exhaust on a 68 impala in the 70s. I was able to buy dual side at a parts store with a glass pack and tail pipe. Knowing I could seal the cross pipe at Auto shop the next day I tackled the job. Never again I rather rebuild an engine. In this case being in this situation. I would suggest a glass pack or resonator down stream. Another solution is a super trapp muffler as a tailpipe. They’re adjustable.
