Wait...are you talking the 5ft8in box?  They've never done that on a regular cab.  I might have misunderstood your reply.

RCSB = Regular Cab "short"/"standard" box (6ft6in box).

RCLB = Regular Cab Long Box (8ft box).

Out of habit I guess I've always referred to the RCSB as a short box but technically yes its the standard box.  Ram never made a 5ft box regular cab either.  Just the standard 6ft 4in box or the 8ft box.

You are correct - I was mistaken.  I'll have to see on my neighbors truck.  You're probably right, but it does look rather short.

I bought it today and brought it home. They still owe me the bed liner, remote start, and they also agreed to get me the flat black bumpers to replace the optional chromes ones. While some folks may think I'm crazy, I think they'll look a lot better with all the other black stuff. Blacked out grill, mirrors, running boards, dark essentials Chevy tailgate lettering along with the black Silverado and Turbomax emblems. I do want to replace the dark essentials front grill bowtie with the base level gold one. The 2.7 4 seems to run well and push a 1500 along just fine :).

PS: Here's a pic of the 2014 wheels I'd like to run when it's not winter. Toyo 285/60 x 18 Proxes ST III tires. Nice wide tire, sporty look. Stuck my finger around new wheel caliper setup. Very little clearance. I suspect these won't fit, but won't know for sure till I try.

Edit: And my first mod. Stubby antenna from the old truck.

Not surprised, but hugely disappointing. My 2014 wheels don't clear the 2026 calipers.

They will fit with a spacer to clear but I know many people don't like that.

Spent the last hour or 2 googling and reading up on the spacer thing. I don't like the loss of thread contact on the slip on spacers, but it appears you can get "extended" lug nuts that reach into the hole of the wheel to get back the lost threads. Looks like the only true hubcentric slip on spacers are at least .375". I'd want as little as I could get away with and don't want to cause other clearance issues going any thicker. Bora seems to offer what appears to be a well made .375" spacer and extended lug nuts. I searched here and did find a couple threads recommending Bora. But not cheap. By the time I buy spacers and lugs, new TPMS sensors, then pay a tire shop to install the new sensors, I suspect I'm going to be in over $400. Thinking about running out and getting some washers to put behind the wheel to see if .375" is enough to clear calipers, turn lock to lock without rubbing, and to see if the wheels/tires look strange pushed out a little. This would just be to check fitment.

I was a little surprised this morning when a third local dealer, one I've never really done any business with, showed some interest and follow through to the point that I've ordered my build for a new 2026, std cab/std bed :)

Awesome! Congratulations!!!

Spacers aren’t safe anyway, so you’re better off just buying something else.

I just bought a 2026 regular cab, long box WT 1500 with the 5.3, 4WD and trailering package this past Friday -- I didn't want any other options.

GM has $6,000 off right now, so it seems like a good time to buy. I searched 150 miles from my house on Chevy's website and there were 10 in black or red. (I didn't want white.) I bought a black one.

I told my wife that I have more motorcycles than friends, so why the heck would I want an extended cab? Other people might have different priorities.

Feel free to expand on that. Considering .375" BORA spacers and extended lug nuts.

A 5mm slip on spacer is no big deal. I run them with my summer aftermarket 20" wheels. There's a LOT of thread still. It's not like you only have 3 or 4 turns of the lug. Been running this setup every summer for the past 5 years with no issues. I run true spacer/adapters in the winter with the stock wheels. 2" spacers that bolt on to the stock lugs and wheels bolt on to the lugs on the spacers. Again, 5 years with no issues.

They put more strain on your suspension components basically and if not installed correctly have potential of completely failing (breaking off the studs). This is just what I’ve read for years on forums and what I found from a simply google search.

The amount of storage in the rear seat area is huge.

You can keep all your cycle gear dry and clean back there :)

Trust me I appreciate the comments and concerns. It's what I was looking for to help me evaluate the situation and what I want to do. I have decided to move forward with the BORA hubcentric slip on 3/8" (.375") with the extended lugs nuts. Fedex says they should be here Monday :). Meanwhile, the dealer got the remote start and Patriot spray in bed liner done over the last couple of days. Also, I installed an inline stop/start eliminator today. Starts back up in what whatever mode you shut it off in, so you don't have to hit the button every time you fire up.

Time will tell. I gave them a go ahead. They're going swap out the chrome bumbers for the black ones for me. I'm pretty sure, sooner or later I'll regret compromising on the 2 spd transfer case, but I'm getting old and want a new truck and this is where I am. Losing the power seat and remote start too compared to my current truck. Not too worried about the seat, and it looks like I can add the remote start aftermarket from Compustar for $420 or so depending on level.

Got a call today scheduling the bumbers for next week. Can't wait. That's the last major change, stuff they owed me,  scheduled for next week.

I'm not sure what I'm looking at. Looks like a draft from last week. Bumpers were installed today by the dealer. I'm very happy with the results. A couple before afters ...  or not. looks like I can only get 2 into a single post.

    • From where I'm sitting this sounds like a compatibility problem. I'm assuming the 2007 was a 900-series truck, and not an 800-series (they were sold side-by-side in dealerships that model year), since it starts and runs.   This is why I HATE post-2006 vehicles. Everything becomes a huge problem when you try to keep the thing running for longer than the manufacturer has designed it to.    I can't remember when Global-A architecture started - either '10 or '11. For your sake, you had better hope it's '11, or you're going to be spending some BIG money to correct this cluster-eff. That's something you need to find out before doing anything else. You may have several computers bricked ... but the fact that it runs tells me you MIGHT be ok here.     EDIT: Just did a quick refresher. You're screwed. This is Global-A. The 2 systems are NOT compatible in the slightest. Once you get the correct engine in there that IS compatible, you're going to need to see how many computers are locked. Absolute NIGHTMARE to straighten out, too. Your buddy might be better off cutting his losses and finding something else.   Welcome to post-2006 vehicle electronics. This is why I quit the industry, and drive nothing built after 1994. This stuff takes all the fun out of wrenching!

    • True, hard to say what differences there may or may not be between Chev and GM as well as a production year or mid year part change either.    I just found it odd that under the Sierra choice on the Autel that many of the last few years of production year did not include the choice of changing the tire pressure but if that is an Autel thing or a GM thing as to why the choices were not there. Knowing what tpms sensors are on the truck should give some guidance into which choices on the tool even make sense to try as I wouldn't give up just yet with the tool but I guess he will see what if anything he comes up with if he finds out a bit more info and tries a few more things on the Autel.
    • I'm sure if you went to a junkyard where you go in and pull the part off the truck yourself, not a used part place where they do it for you, you can get that part on it's own.  Depending on if and what else you would be buying, and time of day, they might even just skip over adding it as a item to the bill.
