The '7827 non-lux TNR has been superceded by '9827. ('9827 is the latest non-lux TNR) Any 2003 or up Denali or Escalade should have all the parts you need (except any navs you find in these vehicles would be LUX units). You can make a quick identification of the year of the vehicle by glancing at the outside OnStar antenna on the roof above the drivers head. 2003 and up vehicles have an antenna with a thicker and larger base (because it not only houses the cell antenna, but the GPS antenna too). The 2002's and before have a very small base...its easy enough to tell them apart from 30 feet away. (and of course the 2003's and up have the new steering wheel and updated dash) Just a little tip for your scavenging!!! :withstupid:

What is required to hook up an aftermarket amp and sub to the factory NAV? Can this be done while also having the option for the backup cam? And one last thought (and I'm probably pushing it) can I have the cam, aftermarket amp and sub, and possibly STILL retain the bose amp and sub or at least the sub?

Thanks for the help.

OK, question. What are the major differences between map disk version 2.0 and 3.0? Are these disks "copy-able"......for backup purposes only, of course. I just got the install job done in my '03 tahoe and have noticed that a lot of streets are missing in my neighborhood (which is a fairly new area, but it's been around for at least 5 years.). Just wondering if 3.0 has newer map information. Also, is 3.0 compatible with the non-touchscreen head units?

The only difference in the versions is the addition of newer roads, streets, etc. and the correction of known mistakes. Version 3.0 is now over years years old, so some roads may still not be on it.

The DVD is copy-able, but only with a dual layer DVD burner. The mapping DVD's have more data on them than a regular DVD burner can fit on a DVD-R (>4.7GB)

All the versions for the Delphi made Nav units will work in all the Delphi made units (touchscreen or non-touchscreen), the Denso units found in the Pontiac Vibe and Caddy cars can only use the Denso mapping DVD.

Yes, you can add your own amp and sub and still retain the factory Bose amp and sub.

You can add a back-up cam, it has nothing to do with the sub or amp. To add a cam and have it display on the nav screen will reguire a video input interface that is rather pricey (about $350) but it does a great job and you can even use to to display video from an aftermarket DVD player.

To add your own amp you can use a LOC (line output converter) and splice into the speaker or sub wires or you can buy a special plug in adapter to plugs into the headunits main harness. Those adapters are made by P.I.E. and Soundgate, and PAC and can be found online or at most good Audio dealers.

Ok guys. I have an 02 Envoy SLT with the BOSE 6 disc and (unverified) class II data bus. How would I tell if I had the class II data bus anyways?? Somebody told me that if my door chime comes through my speakers (and it does) than I have class II. Is this true??

And, What exactly do I need to update to the NAV head unit?? Ive heard so many conflicting things. Can I get a head unit part # that will work in my 02? I have onstar too and steering wheel controls.

The Envoy's and Trailblazer's have the class II databus in the 02 models (the same as the 03 and up fullsizers.

The headunits that you can use are:

TNR - 10377287 (touchscreen model)

INR - 15108421 (non-touchscreen)

You will also need the GPS antenna and a mapping DVD.

You will need to run (add) a VSS (vehicle speed signal) wire from the gauge cluster wiring connector at location A9 (dark green with white tracer wire) to the headunits C2 (12 pin connector) in the "E" position.

Your Onstar and steering wheel controls will work the same as they do now.
