I don't know how old your truck is :) but it may just be lacking lubrication. Hard to say without seeing and hearing for myself. If your truck has some years on it then it could go either way. mabye a bad solenoid. :flag: I would have a better idea if I knew the year of your truck. also your from tennesee so I'm guessing it's warm down there. my roomates 97 EC SB Z71 does the same thing but only in the winter. during summer months it works just fine. not much help but it should give you a starting point.

There is a thread in the Light Duty forum where it talks about lubing the window channel, entitled "Power Window Maintenance", or something like that. Maybe this will help.

well, it says 2001 in his signature, so im going to guess 2001...:). Anyway, my G/F has a Suzuki Vehi-cross, and she had the same symptoms as you....turned out to be a degrading motor. Replaced, and its works fine. It was a 1999 Vehi-cross, so i figured it was to new to be a motor issue, but i was wrong. There have been a bunch of silverado window motors on E-bay the last few months....check there first.

EDIT: check this out for starters....

I just replaced my regulator and motor assy yesterday. Mine started just acting up towards the top and eventually the motor assy ate the broken and frayed cable. You can read about it a few posts down. The regulator I got looks identical to the GM ones only MUCH cheaper. They match right down to some of the same numbers on the unit. Good Luck

By the way it takes longer to get the door panel off and on than it does to replace the regulator. Really easy job only about six bolts.

If you still have some warranty left you might want to bring this up with your service dept- I brought my truck in with a little "punch list" of complaints right before the warranty went out at 36K- and the windows being slow was one of them. Sure enough it failed in the down position @ 45K. They even gave me a loaner truck while they fixed it under warranty as a preexisting complaint!
