Any of the electronic tuners can dis-able the limiter, getting that nice 2004 Sierra out of the highway patrol's impound lot---priceless. :seeya:

Well put. I do have to agree with the voices of reason from time to time

I agree, I hate the 105mph limiter on my 98. I have been thinking about reprogramming to get a little more out of it. The only reason I personally would need more speed is because I am a Fireman and have to get to a scene ASAP (besides, I have lights). what's your excuse?

The speed limit is there for a reason, that reason is not for you to be able to drive however fast you want when you want. :seeya:

F that.  Nobody has to tell me how fast I should go.  If the truck can go 120-130, let it, s**t you only paid $30,000 for it.

I suppose you wouldnt mind if you get in an accident and get injured by a tire blowout to not sue any MFR or insurance company because you exceeded the capibilities of the tires. The reason the speed limiter is on there is to stop LIBILITIES.

Be responsible and drive like an adult. :seeya:

Thank you redvett, that is a good point. Even with lights and a badge, people pull out in front of me and try to block me when I am going to a scene. Others get behind me to get through traffic faster. How fast do you really need to go on the street? Have you seen people that have to be scraped out of their vehicles after they get into an high speed accident? Grow up. If you want to drive fast, go to a track and do it legally.

Oh yeah, STAY THE HELL OUT OF MY WAY!

Mike you said it perfectly. The Law enforcement and their support needs all the help they can get and the street racers aka.wanna be's dont get it. Park your high speed driving on he street/highways you dont save as much time as you think you just waste gas & and risk accidents :seeya: .

I have my speed limiter removed for when I go to the track, (Raceway Park, Englishtown, NJ). My truck's so d**n slow, I don't think I'll ever need it anyway! :seeya: (Hopefully it'll be faster next spring, after my recent mods)

I hear you Mike, I hate it when people cut in front of or follow behind our friends with the flashing lights and badges, just doesn't make any sense to me. I always pull over to the side of the road, and I'm always so amazed at the folks who zip past me when I do so...just to try and get one or two car lengths ahead. Some folks should have their speed limiters set to 55 until they can figure it out!

Amen, the one that gets me too is the guys with the stereos cranked. Don't get me wrong, I like to play my music loud and proud too, but you can't go losing your hearing in regards to what is around you. It only takes a few seconds for an emergency vehicle with siren going to be right up on you.

Yea definatly...I hate that crap. Not to mention that trucks are not race cars...even the fast ones. I've been interested in racing and fast cars all my life, but I hate street racing.

A little light to light goofin' off is one thing...but high speed racing...thats just dumb.

Glad to see so many out there who realize just how dangerous it is for the law enforcement personal. Another thing I'd like to pass on and encourage you folks to do is when you see a law enforcement/DOT vehicle with its lights on on the side of the highway/road, move over to the left lane and slow down about 10 MPH until you've passed them. This not only allows vehicles behind you to get a chance to see the vehicle up ahead, but it also will help slow traffic down so that the chances of some idiot who is in a hurry does something stupid is reduced as well because they now see the emergency vehicle.

Yes, thanks Ryan for the "move over" message. Ohio just passed a law requiring drivers to move over or slow for stopped emergency vehicles. The last department I was involved with had the "Move Right for Sirens and Lights" bumper stickers. So many people just blow by without even a thought. Then you get the rubberneckers. It's just a formula for problems. I've got a spot in town I like to sit for speed enforcement and if I make a stop in that area, it's sometimes on a bend. And with people cruising along around 50(35 zone) a good deal of the time, if I've got someone stopped, they're on top of me before they know it. That's one of the reasons I stand off in the grass to fill out a cite if I'm working on the bike that day.
