Well I have been looking for a center console for my truck, and I have found that the dark grey color is pretty hard to come by, however there are tan and light grey ones available. I have head the these can be Dyed to match my interior. Has any one done this???? If so how durable is it, how complicated, and how did it look??

I had to have a dashpad replaced due to damage from a shotgun blast on a '92 Yukon once. The new one from GM was dark grey, they dyed it burgandy. It looked very good and was very durable. It was a simple process. Just make sure to go with a good quality dye and follow the directions to the letter for proper preperation and temperature application. If it gets scratched you can always touch it up.

Truck is a 2004 Sierra. I need the center console that is common on the extended cab trucks. It goes from the center of the seat all the way to the dash. Truck currently as the fold down center seat. The dealer wants way too much money for the console, I can get on off e-bay for much cheaper, but I can't find the darker grey color, most are tan or light grey. From what I understant the dark grey ones are very hard to come buy since they are the most common color used in the trucks.

I have the center console in graphite it is the one with the cup holders front and back with vents for the backseat and large console, its out of my 01 2500HD CC. it goes all the way up to the cigerate lighter with the tape deck (mine doesn't have the tape btw). Anyway if this is the same piece you are looking for.... I need the part under the cigaret lighter that has the fold out cup holders in graphite?

 

Your jump seat folds up and down does it turn into an armrest for the driver and passenger....is it cloth?

yes that is what I am looking for, but the 01 does not quite match up to the 04 model. GM changed to dash area a little. I do have a lead on a light gray one for the 04 model year. I probably am going to pick it up, I just have to find someone to do the dye work on it. Finding the graphite color is impossible.

 

As for your question about my center seat, yes it is the fold down type in cloth, but the top is some sort of vinyl(the area where you would rest your arm)

You can do the dye work yourself it comes in either an aerosol (or use too) and a bottle with an applicator like a bottle of shoe polish.
