it's not supposed to cause sludge either. I've ran it in everything i've had since 91.

reminds me my younger days, i've been desperate a time or too. blew an oil pan gasket, did realize it till the oil pressure droped. stuck some permatex on it, let it dry while we did some fishing. ended up driving out with a mixture of what oil was left in the pan, gear oil, and a bottle of chain saw oil. chained the oil gasket and added new oil and a filter, when i got it home. yet I'm bored and tired at work.

I've used GTX in my race motor since day one (except for break-in on occasional cam changes) and I have been racing it since June of 1997...approx. 200-250 passes per season. The short block still looks new inside....and its still running! That sales it for me.

To compare to Valvoline, I used to have an old beater Toyota Corolla....using Castrol the timing chain would start rattling at about 3200 miles on the oil change, Valvoline started rattling at 1800 miles....kinda tells me something.

Just my experiences....special huh

Used GTX in all four of the trucks I have owned and my mom's suburban and no problems. My s10 went to 183,000 miles and still running when I got rid of it and my '98 has 98,000 and runs greeat.

Amsoil, the best, the original. Since 1972. Everything else is a low grade imitation.

I've got a '94 K1500 extended cab 5.7L with 263k miles on it. I run 5w30 GTX in it exclusively.

I have been experimenting with sythetics(amsoil/mobil1) in the newer vehicles and have good results so far but nothing beats the mileage on the '94.
