Body damage...

I purchased a new 05 Tahoe. During our walkaround we were looking for digs and scratches etc. like always :smash: we found none. After driving aroud for about 2 weeks I washed and waxed it. Guess what.... the front fender had been damaged and spot painted in an area about the size of your open hand. No one knows anything about it of course...the spot really shows up at certain angles. (silver birch metallic) I am such a perfectionist and so dissapointed with the discovery. I am wondering what some of you would do about this situation. Do I just eat it or go for the throat????

Brand new vehicle = your hard-earned money = pitch a b*tch...my thoughts at least. If they weren't upfront about disclosing a known problem or repair that was made to a vehicle that you were buying as new and undamaged, I'd say there's a bit of an issue there.

If it is a crappy repair, you should rake them over the coals. That silver birch is a tough color to match up with the metallic. But if they do a good job then everyone should be happy. If it is that bad, you should make them fix it right.

The key is to maintain your composure. Show you are serious, but don't start by reaching over the counter and grabbing lapels. And make sure you document your conversations and dealer visits carefully in case things have to get more unpleasant.
