Glove Box Question

That is a bit of a mystery. It is molded to clip **something** in there. For me, I used to hold a pen on one clip, and a tire pressure gauge with the other. I'd love to know what the original purpose was/is.

Its for your driving gloves.......duh. Thats why it is a glove box. Actually I doubt it has a true intended purpose, but you could but some parking passes or insurance cards or stuff like that in there. Mine is empty.

Thanks! I never knew that was there because you have to be in the passenger seat (or looking for it) when you open the glove compartment. Has it been there in all NBS trucks? This is my 3rd and I never saw it before.

Remember when glove compartment doors were steel and had little cup indentations for use when at the drive-in because there were no other cupholders.

My 2002 also has those same clips, and although I rarely see them because I never open it, I have also always wondered what they are there for! Good ideas above though!

Since we are on gloveboxes, what is the purpose of the little compartment on the left side of the glovebox door? Now that the mystery is answered for the clips on the right, what about the small compartment on the left side? My Prodigy almost fits in there, if it did, it would be ideal.

That's where I keep my stack of little papers that have a picture of Mickey Mouse giving the finger and the words "Thanks a$$hole, for parking so d**n close, I had to use a f***ing can opener to get my truck out". They go under the wiper blades of people who can't park worth a crap.

Oh, it's also where I keep the ears of my vict......I mean....Insurance papers.

I knew a guy that carried cards like that.

He also had one that read:

Money's short,

Times are hard,

Here's your f-ing

Christmas Card!

It was printed on a business card.

Back to the original post... That does look like it had some intended purpose for sure. I'm like some of the others - I had to go look at mine because I had no idea it was there! I hope someone knows the engineer who put it there and lets us know what it is really for. That little 1" square dimple next to it must have a reason as well...
