1988 K1500 gas pedal hard to move

The accelerator pedal on my 1988 K1500 is very hard to push. Anyone have advice on where to lube it and with what?

When you say "very hard to push" does it return correctly, or does it get stuck?

Did you have any work done to the engine lately? Is the cable kinked or frayed? Is the throttle lever on the Throttle Body Unit hard to move by hand, or does it move freely, or are there any obstructions in the way of the throttle lever/cable area? It could be possible that the TBI units throttle shaft is worn.....

I know that sounds like alot of questions, but those are a few things I would check for. It may also just be rust build up on the pedals actuator arm pivot, or something as simple as a new set of floor mats that did not fit properly. As far as what to use to lube it, that would depend on where it is binding. If its at the pedal pivot, I would use WD40, CRC, Liquid Wrench, etc.....If it was under the hood at the TBI Unit, you could use a penetrating oil to free it up then hit it with a white lithium grease after it is free. If the cable is kinked or the outer casing was damaged, I would just replace the cable....anyhow I hope this helps and GOOD LUCK!
