Well my stock cd player is crapping out big time so I'm about to upgrade to an aftermarket player. My question is what do I have to do connect an ipod up to it and have all the controls on the head unit. Do I have to simply hook up the rca cables to the aux input and I'm on my way or what?

Aight, I did the search and really didn't find anything to help me. This might help ya'll understand my situation. Like I said I'm about to get another head unit. And I really don't want to mess with cd's anymore. The Ipod isn't my only choice. So could I just get any mp3 player and hook it up to my radio. Any other options are welcome. I just don't want my stock head unit and I don't want to mess with cds and no FM modulators.hope this helps.

I think you just need to get some familiarity as to what is out there. I mean, there are all the major brands that will replace your head unit, from Alpin to Sony, Pioneer, Panasonic and others. http://www.crutchfield.com is a good place to start. Dig around and you'll find exlanations as to what you need. The prices are high, but the support is excellent.

http://www.etronics.com/ is another good site and a lot cheaper. There are a lot of messages on this very thing at gm-trucks. Dig around via the search engine and you'll find plenty. If this site's search engine dies on you, try typing this in GOOGLE:
