Ok so like the title says i have a 98 Silverado and here are the mods i already have I got a superchip, Cold air, Mass Air Flow Sensor, Throttle Bodie Spacer, MSD ignition, MSD wires, New plugs, Distributer,Rotar, Exhasut True Dual 40 Series, 2 inch lift, 33's brush gaurd side steps, taillight gaurds. Well the truck runs alright now, pretty quick but i want it faster, when winter comes ill be putting on a procharger intercooled. and i am wondering if you guys think its worth it to buy these high flow catco cats on ebay for 50 bucks new shipped to my door (each). I am thinking yes and i was wondering there are some no name headers on ebay right now for BRAND NEW 200 shipped. i was wondering if i should buy them or if i should get a name brand. are headers headers? or does name count. I have th 5.7 350. Help me out i dont know much about headers.

You get what you pay for with reason.

If you go with the cheapest you will end up paying more later.

Its better to get the one that is not quite the most expensive!.

On headers brand name does count. You don't want those bad boys leaking all the time.

And from what I understand all cats are high flowing. From somewhere I read that your cats flow as much as they possible can while still doing their jobs straight from the factory. Of course their are ways to gut your cat to make it look legal........

Edelbrock are ok from what i hear. Are you thinking about shortie headers or long tube?

Shorties are nice but dont make nearly the power of LT's.

Your money would be better spent on a custom tune, or other mod. Save the headers for last!

From what I have read and understood the tri-y's gove you the power where you use it most - in the mid range. That's where you drive your truck the most and the tri-y's provide their power there. Whne I'm ready for headers in my truck I will be going with tri-y for sure.
