I was hoping for more power. Not ridiculous, but enough to let it escape its own shadow in under 15 minutes. My Z71 needed some "help" cause it was a friggin snail before it got tweaked.

Reading the article at GM Inside News, they need to up some HP, the 2500 will drop from towing 12k to 9k.

350HP is nice, but my detuned S/C has me at about 400 and it works very well.

for some reason the front end doesnt seem to match the rest of the truck. it doesnt look proportional. To short? Looks like a trailblazer front end on a burb

It's because the back is so long and the front door is huge. I like the styling.

I think if they changed the windshield rake as much as they said, and kept the top of the window at the same point, the bottom would need to move forward, shortening the hood. This might be why it looks that way.

I think Ill be in the showroom for one Fall 2007, let them work the new bugs out first  IF the wife keeps saying I cant get a 5th wheel that is.

I like it. Nice refresh of an already good looking SUV. Too bad the power choices are so linited. Also, no 2500 version for this generation - just a light duty configuration with a 6.0? That kind of sucks, but maybe it's too early to tell what's coming down the pipe for later options.

This is what totally HONKS me off about GM. They will release a Z71 "later"??

They will may or may not have a 2500 model, and then they give us a de-tuned 6.0??

If you are going to roll out a new model, give us the choices, OUT OF THE GATE!!

They did this crap with the introduction of the Silverado style rigs and it stunk.

They will be available only to larger dealerships first, then if you want one, you have to take what they give you or order one that hopefully will get built sometime in this millinium!

:puke:

It gets very old

Guys, thanks for all the pictures, information and hard work you do.

I would consider a 2500 burb if they didn't price the thing at $50K. A crew cab 2500 HD is $15K less fully loaded! No way that little bit of extra metal and back seat costs anywhere near $15K. Plus how many 2500 burbs do you see on the road? I see very few, maybe a 100:1 ratio of 1500 burbs to 2500 burbs that I see on the road. With that low volume I suprized they kept making them this long. Don't get me wrong, I like burb's, but a Z06 will be in my driveway long before I pay the same amount for a 2500 burb.

I have to agree. I think that the styling of all these new SUV's looks too much like it came out of a Ford design studio. I love the interior, like the new DOD technology, but the styling is far too Ford or import for me. I'm sure it will grow on me like the current generation 4Runner did but it doesn't have that immediate appeal I would hope for my next vehicle.

Currently, you can easily aquire a loaded 2500 Sub at invoice for $46K + discounts. An equally loaded 1500 can go for an invoice cost of $45K + discounts. Not a huge delta for a current model 2500 w/ a stiffer suspension and a variety of engine options. Adding the 8.1 increases the cost by about $1K.

As far as 2500 Subs go - pretty common around here. Guessing, about 20:1. Pretty much the same as the ratio of gasser 2500's to DMAX 2500's.
