I voted to keep them together,I don't see a problem.

It's not the trucks, it's the owners. Totally different breed of people, totally different questions, totally different mechanical aptitude, totally different road manners.

I say keep them together. I have been a truck owner for 16 years and have a been repairing and hopping them up since the very first. I am now an suv owner and my 1999 K2500 suburban is probably is probably the most capable (towing and hauling) truck I have owned. Seperating truck and suv owners you may limit the shared know how and do it yourself fixes you see here. They are pretty much the same under the hood.

If you keep the groups together but enforce some simple ediquette everyone may benefit. Structurally the trucks are a subset of the SUV's--the SUVs have everything the trucks have and then a bit more interior and ammenities. For issues that are unique to the SUVs, such as a rear air conditioner issue, perhaps the post can include "SUV only issue" in the post so that the truck owners can know tha the issue does not apply to them. Same with the trucks, for example a PTO/hydraulic pump issue may not apply to the SUV crowd and could be headed with "Truck only issue."

I would not want the groups separated. Both groups bring value to this forum and the diversity of questions makes this forum more valuable to everyone.

I agree that, in some cases, the questions asked might be a distinguishing factor between truck and SUV owners, but I would vote to keep the forums together as we generally all benefit from cross-platform performance mods and general maintenance issues. Plus, if you get tired of the same old questions being asked, you don't have to answer, and the lack of responses should prompt the poster to do further research through search queries.

It is mostly a fun poll. More people should vote though. Maybe just alot of non-members reading the poll and not voting. Anyhow - the answers are interesting!

I'm a newby with the whole V8 and Chevy Truck/SUV thing. I appreciate the fact that it is all together. I can apply some of the things I read about the trucks to my new Suburban.

I have to admit that I used to be a hardcore Ford fan but after the Suburban I'm hooked. I also find the attitude of the people different between Ford and Chevy. The Chevy guys seem to be more involved and loyal to their product.
