I just ordered the redundant stereo controls for the steering wheel along with the new wheel shroud. Keep your eyes peeled for that one in the next couple of weeks. Once the parts arrive, I'll let you boys know. Daddy
kdogg Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Oh, it works, I also just got my new remotes for my factory remote start too. I think it was $160.00 can't remember cause it took almost a month to recieve from gmpartsdirect.com . I just have to find time to go get the truck flashed and BAM it will work. It's Great for the north-west. The funny thing is, that there is nothing to install on the truck. It was just new remotes with an extra button. The dealer may not be able to do it as you have to buy some extra part which gives a number to assign to the truck and their techline'll have some other code to activate it. I was quoted around 300 including labor...Must be some slowass techs there as they say it'll take about 3-4 hours to reprogram the BCM in the TB to accept the replacement radio they ordered (which is not even the problem, passenger side speaker is blown). I went in today finally! Only 43 bucks, howed that happen? Some optimism??? Oh 30 mins too. We'll you where right! The cost of the new remotes was 163.00. I then went in and paid 209.00 with labor and other parts. So remote start costed 363.00. I don't think it was practical for the remote start, But since I had already paid for the remotes, I just went ahead and did it anyways. They had to reprogram the whole trauck, but It works great. I like it, because I live in the North West now it makes it more conveinent in the mornings and on cold days. In case anyone wants to know, the break controller was 142.00 parts and labor. By the way that's my stupid work truck behind the Chevy, the one that the speedo does'nt work all the time. I could just back up and fix the whole problem>>>>>
Arclighht Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 Hey Daddy! I installed it into my 07 Silverado work truck today. No problems at all. I followed your suggestions and perused the instructions that came with it... which were amusing because they showed dismantling half the dash to get the panel out.... I don't think so. Just pulled it out gently and swapped it out. I did have a bit of a problem sliding the new panel back into place though. I ended up loosening a screw down by the brake release handle to give me a little play in the lower panel, to insert the bottom flange of the DIC panel into position. Other than that, no challenges! Without your thread here, I would not have known this upgrade was so simple and relatively inexpensive! Thank you, sir! PS: I ordered it here: http://gmaccessoriesstore.com/driver-infor...ath=35_36_42_52 for $86.28. What a deal! My work truck is rocking now!

EXSlider400 Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 The average MPG. Is this live? Can i see if i get better MPG at 70 or 75? Most friends who have this get better MPG at 78 than 70mph. If so it will pay for itself.

anthony2558 Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Just installed mine today. Its so nice to have that added info. The only thing is a couple hours after installing it. I got a cell P0332 Knock Sensor Low Voltage Input Bank 2. I doubt its from the upgrade but makes me wonder.
