2007 SLE DIC Upgrade

I finally recieved my new DIC control panel. It took 3 minutes to install  It's awsome. That was the world record for upgrades. I wonder why GM didn't just put it in, in the first place. It doesn't make sense. The info is already there you just can't get to it with out the controller. oh well, Thanks to "Daddy" How'd you find that out anyways.

I saw the part online (I bought my truck back in December '06) and just decided to yank the panel off and see what was there. We got lucky on this one. I actually told the guy I bought mine from about the mod to help him sell more trucks and give guys who don't want to pay upfront, or aren't members of places like this, some better gear.

By the way I'll sell the old panel to any one who wants it. Or better yet we should all send them to GM's front door at the same time.

You find the address and I am in.

Thanks for th info, by far the easiest mod/upgrade I have ever done! My first mod to my 07 silverado WT! Now if I could find some info on adding fog lights and 6 gauge instrument cluster? Many thanx! I usually just lurk on most of the sites, just taking time to show my appreciation!!!!!!

I originally tried to order my DIC panel from GMPartsDirect.com, but the site was unable to match the address I entered with the credit card address they "saw." They match, but I guess not 100% perfect. Even though an order will fail, they'll still charge your card and refund the money in a few days. That's dumb.

I said screw those guys and ended up getting mine from GMAccessoriesStore.com for $5 or $6 more. No biggie. I love all this new info the DIC shows! So far, the average fuel economy only reads .2 miles high. A great mod and big thumbs up.

Just did this myself. I won't say it's 100% easy though haha. It popped out alright but it was a pain to get it back in. The instructions say to remove basically most of the dash assembly and I can see why- the panels are curved on the ends and are designed to sit under the dash for a flush look. After a few minutes of fighting with it, I took the flathead and eased the corners in. Looks great and the avg fuel economy is a lil depressing though haha. About 92 shipped from gmaccessories.

Oh, it works, I also just got my new remotes for my factory remote start too. I think it was $160.00 can't remember cause it took almost a month to recieve from gmpartsdirect.com . I just have to find time to go get the truck flashed and BAM it will work. It's Great for the north-west. The funny thing is, that there is nothing to install on the truck. It was just new remotes with an extra button.

I ordered the part today. Really have to give thanks to this forum and its members. I can't wait to have all the information displayed in my Sierra.

The dealer may not be able to do it as you have to buy some extra part which gives a number to assign to the truck and their techline'll have some other code to activate it.

I was quoted around 300 including labor...Must be some slowass techs there as they say it'll take about 3-4 hours to reprogram the BCM in the TB to accept the replacement radio they ordered (which is not even the problem, passenger side speaker is blown).

Thanks for the info on the DIC upgrade. I just installed mine on my Silverado LT Z71

and it worked perfectly. It took me ten minutes instead of five because the light

switch with the two clips on one end was difficult to pop out.

...Oh well
