I also just got the email today telling me the part was backordered.

 

 

I got an email Tuesday saying it shipped and I got it Thursday. Installed it in no time.

 

 

Awesome. Much nicer, isn't it?

For anyone who's still looking, I ordered the DIC from http://www.gmpartshouse.com, and it just came in today. Ordered it last Monday. Took a whopping 5 minutes to install.

This thread popped up the other day and got me looking again.

I ordered one a couple months ago, and cancelled it due to the backorder.

GM Parts Direct is now showing them available. Mine has already shipped

and I should have it tomorrow.

Installed today...took about 5 minutes

Just used a little muscle and pulled off the stock panel

I pulled off the fuse panel so I could pull down on the lower part of the dash so the panel would fully seat. Plugged it in and snapped it all together.

Works perfect. Thanks
