Got mine today, paid $85 then a $10 off access. coupon at my local dealer, installed in the parking lot in 5 mins.

2008 silverado.

Whats with the TIMER set at 00:00:00?

It's a trip timer, not a life of the truck timer.

I was looking at a few 09 trucks and the models that did not have the dic had different vents than the ones with dic, if i do the mod after words then does the kit come with a different vent? the dic was to the right of the gauge cluster. I was looking at ext cab sl not to sure if that matters

This upgrade is not for trucks with that interior. This is for the trucks with the interior below.

As you can see in that pic the DIC is on the left hand side just to the right of the vent. This mod is to add the DIC for guys who don't have that set of four buttons already.

Ok, well what interior is that? from what i found out this up grade will only work if you have the 40/20/40 setting in the front? Any info on this will be great.

Thanks

Hey guys, I've read A LOT of this thread, maybe not all of it, but probably over an hour of reading.

Can anyone confirm that this also works with the 2500HD with the 6.0?

EDIT> (after I noticed the helpful search within topic) Looks like Allan and Southerner did it but I'd love to hear of more.

Seems like it should work, I'm gonna try to pull my panel off and see if I have the wire tomorrow.

EDIT- UPDATE

I pulled off the panel, and it wasn't too hard to get off but I'm a little iffy on putting it back on for 2 reasons.

1. I don't want to damage the corner of the piece of the dash that it meets up with (the one that's rounded and above the guages), and it's sort of blocking it from going in straight. I might try pulling out the two screws from under that panel so i get some clearance. If I scratch that piece it's going to drive me crazy.

2. It just feels like I have to push so hard and I'm a little nervous about breaking a clip or something, I have a history of doing stuff like that.

The GOOD NEWS is that wire is indeed there, and I ordered the parts for $62 including shipping, so that's pretty nice.

Removing the rounded piece above the gauges is a breeze...just remove the two screws and carefully pull up and towards you...there are two tabs that mesh with slots in the dash. Also, the clips can take a little "gusto" to seat correctly, but before you push too hard, make sure there are no clearance issues and that everything is lined up. If so, then go ahead and press firmly.

I ordered mine today. None of the dealer and stock nor did they even know the part number, they have to order it right from the manufacturer it should be here at the end of the week.

I've scanned thru this thread and I saw where someone installed this on his 08 WT. I am guessing this would work on my 08 Sierra SL.

Am I correct on this???

Yea, it'll work.
