does Driver Information Center 19159438

work on the 2009 silverado LT

Yes.

reason why i ask is parts department says upgrade not for lt model

As is posted throughout this thread over and over again, go out, remove the panel that is there now and look for the harness clipped to the back of the panel that is plugged into nothing. If that is there, this will work.

Parts guys don't always know WTF they are talking about.

Some do, most don't though.

Just ordered DIC from GM parts direct for my 09 LT1.

$88.09 shipped.

Just curious, have they shipped the part yet? I ordered one 2 weeks ago from GM Parts Direct and it still hasn't shipped and they said it was on back order. Thanks for the help!

No, it says "In Process" on the order status.

That is not the kind of news I wanted to hear. I hope they get some soon.

I had one on back order from gm parts direct for 2 weeks and cancelled it. They told me they didnt know when they would be able to get it. Maybe all of the people ordering it off here have caused unecessary demand for the part so no one can get it. Way to go everybody!! My dad is the body shop manager for a dealership, so i had him order it from the parts department for me.

GMPartsDirect.com is just a dealership parts department that ships. It's Flow Chevrolet in Winston Salem, NC. I'm not sure if your Dad can order a GM part any faster than they can but good luck! Hopefully you don't have to start the two weeks all over again. :dunno:

The parts manager at the dealership he works at said he could have it in a few days, didn't say anything about it being back-ordered. There is another local dealership that said they could have it pretty quick too. Maybe the demand isn't as high down here in Texas

Order Status changed from "In process" to "On order".

Ordered mine mid-April on a weekend and had it about 10 days later. FWIW, I also ordered the parts individually rather than as a package. I was OTD with shipping for about $63. Best way to go IMO!

I just placed my order for the two separate parts with GMPartshouse.com. $66 including shipping.

Will let you know when they arrive...and how the install goes.

I gave up on GM Parts Direct, and cancelled my back ordered part. Went to the local GMC dealer, and he had the part for me in 24 hours ready to go for $85. He said the part showed up in the system as back ordered, but he pulled it from a dealer in Dayton, OH.

I'd suggest giving your dealer a call if you can't get in online and ask'em for a discount (you might just get it).

Anyway, great mod, had it installed in about 10 minutes. I had a little trouble getting the connectors off the old panel and getting the left hand corner back in the dash (not much clearance), but finally got it. I'm mad at myself for scratching the edge of the new panel in a few places next to the instrument dials, but I guess I am the only one that will really notice (still I hate damaging something I just bought). :D

Thanks again daddy!
