I have the DIC from the factory and personally I'm not sure I would pay $100 to add it to my truck. Everything you get from it is available elsewhere except the transmission temperature. The mileage estimates and instant fuel mileage seems "off" to me as well.

And YOU probably paid $300.00 from the factory for what you consider useless information, and "I" paid $82.50....the question is why did YOU pay $300.00 for it when it is available for less than a hundred?

It came/comes as part of an option package. (IE-Its not available as a "stand alone" option)

The option package being the steering wheel mounted radio controls and that option cost more than 300.00 dollars...so my original question remains. If you do not want to pay the more than 300.00 dollars to get the DIC as part of an options package. Why not get it as part of a do it yourself package for less than $100.00. Sounds more economical to me.

Sounds good to me.

Are DICs in short supply? I'm thinking I need to get it done...

Nope. There are plenty of DIC's around here!! (#500!!)

I pulled off my dash bezel today and I think I found the elusive DIC wire but I want to post a picture before I order the new dash plate just to be sure.

Sweet!!!! :confused::(

Daddy didn't lie when he said that this is the single easiest mod you could ever do! I'll be sure to post the results after I order the part and get it installed. I priced it at a dealership in Canada and was told $95 so that sounds about right.

Got the dash and switch and installed it right away in under 10 minutes!! Thanks Daddy for letting us all know about this quick and easy and oh so useful mod.

Definitely the easiest mod I've ever done to any vehicle I've owned! I plan to put it to good use when I make the 2 and a half hour trek to the campground this weekend!

While I'm waiting with bated breath for my DIC to come in the mail, I was wondering if I have TPMS sensors in my wheels already?

Can you tell from the outside, and/ or are they not there unless your truck was already equipped with a DIC?

Posted

I don't believe the TPMS has anything to do with the DIC option. My truck didn't have the DIC from the factory, but had the TPMS.

Kilo-9- Were you able to get theTP readings by any other means prior to putting on the DIC? I can only get odo, trip, trans temp,% oil compass and key relearn with no DIC on my Silvy.

I just assumed that if there was no DIC, GM would not have put the sensors on every wheel "just in case"- seems a waste, but I'll take it if that's so.

All '07-up GMT900 trucks except duallys have TPMS,Its required by federal law.

OK. If then I can not get the tire pressures to come up when scrolling through the information/trip reset button, what does that mean??? No sensors?

No, it means you do not have the DIC buttons on the dash to the left of your steering wheel.

Yes,You have the sensors (They are federally mandated) you just cannot view each tire pressure by themselves since you do not have the DIC buttons, once you install the DIC buttons you will be able to view the tire pressure of each tire.
