The panel is on back-order at GMPartshouse.....and no ETA. So I ended up ordering the whole kit from GM parts Direct on Wednesday. The next day I got an email stating it was shipped.....Fed Ex tracking says it should be here this Tuesday! Less than a week....not too bad if you ask me.

You can always get a scan gauge that will show the instant MPG amoung many other things too!

 

I have a scan gauge in mine and love it but planning to do this simple mod for under $100 its hard to beat!

I have the DIC from the factory and personally I'm not sure I would pay $100 to add it to my truck. Everything you get from it is available elsewhere except the transmission temperature. The mileage estimates and instant fuel mileage seems "off" to me as well.

 

And YOU probably paid $300.00 from the factory for what you consider useless information, and "I" paid $82.50....the question is why did YOU pay $300.00 for it when it is available for less than a hundred?

It came/comes as part of an option package. (IE-Its not available as a "stand alone" option)

I'm glad I did the DIC upgrade. I like having access to all the information at the touch of a button. Remaining miles is useful for me as I drive across the country and like having something to help time my fuel stop on the NY thruway.

your right Vern... You gotta have AFM to get the instant MPG.

 

 

Hmm. So if you get your AFM turned off by BB, will you lose anything other than instant MPG?

As far as the DIC is concerned, I didn't lose anything when Justin turned off the AFM...except that it never says V4 Mode.

Turning off the AFM will not lose the instant MPG display in the DIC.
