Try gmaccessoriesstore.com they have some good prices as well...Ordered the DIC, Chrome Tow Hooks, and chrome mirrors from them....Mirror covers should come in today according to fed ex tracking...good luck...

Bad news for anyone who wanted to do this mod. The switch is still available, but the trim plate is on a National Backorder through GM.

I ordered mine back in the middle of July and just received word that it was canceled. I guess I will have to cut a whole in the old plate and make due with an ugly mess until I can order the correct plate.

Has anyone else found the plate for a reasonable price? Part # 25783286.

Done ordered mine last week from gmpartsdirect.com, $80 something including shipping, installed last night. They have them in stock now - see above link. I love the way in the instructions they want you to basically take apart the whole dashboard when you can simply snap the panel off/on... Can you say, technician hours = customer labor cost? LOL

Just a random thought, I know it's been said a million times before, but what a joke - GM leaves the wires for the DIC plugged into a plastic retainer... why not provide SLE/WT buyers with a value-added perk that wouldn't cost em any extra ? Ugh.

I installed my DIC yesterday without a hitch. Took under 5 minutes to do. Just like everyone said the 4.8 does not show Instant MPG.

Ordered the switch and panel separately for $55 shipped on 8/3 finally got word today the panel was canceled due to national GM backorder but the switch has already been shipped.

So, I either cut into my brand new Silverado , wait for a panel, or try and buy the panel with the switch already installed (19159438). If I decide to try and order the panel w/ installed switch (19159438) would anyone be interested in the switch alone?

I appreciate it but I don't consider myself very handy with 'free form' modifications. I may be able to turn a wrench with a threaded bolt alright but I can't cut a straight free hand line to save my life. I'm going to spend some time and try to find a panel or sell the switch.

Check the website i listed above. they had quite a few in their warehouse!!!!

Thanks guys, took me 100x longer to read this thread than it did to swap the dash piece in.

My local dealer somehow had 4 of them in stock! That's a good bunch of info to activate for $100, I only ran 3 red lights this am while watching my instantaneous MPG numbers
