I just did the D.I.C upgrade, and I'm very happy with it.

It just took 5 minutes, like you said.

Thanks a million Guys!!

I want to do this upgrade also but when I pulled my panel off I cant find the connector that plugs into the dic switch, is it laying there or something because there is only 2 connectors one going to the headlight switch and one to the interior lighting, its a 08 1LT and I hope they didnt stop supplying this connector when the truck was built because of people doing this easy upgrade.

It should be there. Mine was clipped to the dash panel but not actually plugged into anything. There are other guys with 08's that have done this. It'd cost GM more to re-engineer their wiring harnesses than they're losing on this upgrade. Especially since you have to pay for the part!

The smaller plug is the DIC interface, the headlight/interior light switch is one piece, at least it was on my dash.

The harness on the upper left is the 4-pin connector for the DIC which sits in false socket. The harness on the lower right is to the lighting control module:

Well my shiny new dic came in today and I must say that was the easiest add on i've done thus far with the exception of the floor mats. Added bed rail protector caps today and also the underseat rear storage and the dic was easier to add than both of those!

Thats an awesome mod! I'm ording the parts for my 07 NBS SLE Sierra. Thanks daddy I can't wait to see my Mileage, Tire pressure and all the other info

Then again...you may not want to see your mileage.

I have 07 Sierra Crew Cab SLE, gave gm parts my vin number. Told me the DIC would work on my vehicle. Received part. Tore entire dash apart as per directions and no plug was found anywhere. Had to return item.

Either you are driving an '07 classic or you overlooked it. Everyone who has tried this from WT's to SLE's has been able to find the cable. Not sure how thorough you were in your reading of the thread but the wire you were looking for is actually clipped in place on the OEM panel and could easily be overlooked and assumed to be plugged in to something meaningful. Pull the left hand panel off again and look at the pictures up just a but farther in this thread and you'll see it. Perhaps you have the one SLE out there that wasn't pre-wired but I doubt it. Good luck, I hope you just missed it.

Daddy,

Well, I read your post last night while at work and could not wait to get home and checkk for this plug after ordering the DIC and tearing the dash apart not finding it. When I woke up this afternoon I went out pulled the dash panel off....whala!!! There it was. I was looking all over for that thing a week ago sweatin' my butt off and ended up taking all the parts off like the dirctions indicated incase I was missing the plug. Two minutes and I located that plug today.. Well, as you can imagine I called gm parts right away!!!!Thanks a million. I wish I held on to it and read this thread completely.

Mine wasn't actually clipped to anything. It was just stuffed in there and it took 10 seconds to find it instead of the .02 seconds that it would have if it were clipped. My truck it a 08 ext cab short bed Sierra w/t.

Thanks Daddy for the post I'm new to this forum but not to GM! I just got my 08 Silverado LT on 06/17/08 and I checked and there is a plug back there. I will be calling the local dealers to see who has it in stock. I was bummed that I didn't have the DIC at first. Now if only I could get the remote start.
