2007 SLE DIC Upgrade

how do yu do that?? i was trying to tap into the illum wire so that it would light up my stereo on the same switch stupid i know but thats how i roll also great post also do you know what each one of the wires go to. like the yellow, green/white, purple, brown, and the other one???

So to answer your question about the harness; You can order it, but it will cost a fortune because it's the whole truck's harness. As to finding what wires go to what is an intirely diffirent and great question. Maybe "someone" here can get thier minds back together and try to help a guy out. Is there a way you can show a picture of what you've done so far? Maybe we can help.

Is it not possible to tap into the dimmer switch itself rather than the DIC harness?

This is awesome when I buy my new 09 (hopefully) Silverado W/T in black with the LS chrome upgrade. I will add one of these DIC's to the truck. Question though? Would this awesome feature if I did myself make the warranty void? I would assume it wouldnt because its just a plug and play. Anyone know of this?

Wow, thanks for this post! I've been searching all over trying to find a way to add the DIC to my 2007 Silverado LT.

A quick question though, is the dash plate the same for both the Sierra and the Silverado? Meaning, will the part linked to work for both?

Think it's the same dash. GMpartsdirect.com added this item to their accessory list and showing the same part number. In the same situation and inquired at the dealer when taking delivery. Parts guy just made excuses (can't trust on-line parts#'s, too new, not listed to fit my serial#, have to reflash computer, etc...). Didn't want to start an argument so going to ask them one more time this week then order one on-line if they don't want to sell me one.

Any time I am looking for a part from gmpartsdirect.com I will usually call my local dealership and get the price and their part number. You can then type it in to gmpartsdirect site and it almost always pulls it up, the list price is either very close or exactly the same.

Thanks to everbody for all of the information in regards to the DIC upgrade, but one more question, sorry if I overlooked the answer in the previous posts. Does the panel only come in one color? I'm thinking all trucks use the black panel...........right?

All the ones I have seen are black so far and GM only has one part number for this.
