New Truck Prices

I saw a crew cab Z71 LTZ today on sale. $ 7,400 off the sticker right on the windshield. Even with all the discounts, it was still $ 33,400 (original sticker price $ 40,800). It was my favorite color too (burgundy red with tan interior).

The MSRP on these trucks is rather steep. This was pretty much a base LTZ crew cab Z71 with a just a few extras, like the XM radio, but no VortecMax pkg, no sunroof, no 20 inch wheels, no DVD, no navigation, and no rear tailgate assist. Looks like this truck would be approaching $ 47K MSRP with all available options. :)

Fully loaded they top out at $47,784 for 2007, according to Chevy's website. Personally, I think the fewer discounts and incentives the better. They'll do nothing but drive down the value of my truck...

When they introduced the 1500 crew cab in 2004, a fully loaded Z71 was stickered at over $ 40k. Less than a year later they had to discount these trucks by as much as $ 12k off the sticker to sell them. GM keeps playing this game of high rebates as consumer incentives and it isn't likely that they are going to stop any time soon.

Higher prices on NBS '07 models actually helped the resale value of my '06 crew cab Z71.

Your a smart man, that is right, the more rebates the lower the resale value.

At least now they are not the only ones... According to Automotive news, new Tundras, [The Truck that is Changing It All], need $5,000 on the hood to move them off the lot.
