Hey all! Just chiming in to introduce myself. My name is Steve and I am the owner of a 1992 GMC Sierra pickup. The truck previously belonged to my uncle and was purchased brand new 15 years ago. The truck is a regular cab, short bed, step-side pickup with the 5.7L motor. The truck was also purchased with running boards, fender flares...can't remeber the term for this, but you see this on conversion vans. It also came with the most uncomfortable bucket seats and center console. It even has a small compartment underneath the center seat where you could throw a couple of canned drinks and ice in for some cold ones. Even though I bought the truck about 3 years ago, I, along with my father have barely started fixing up again. Some of our plans include:

-removing the ugly "body kit" and all emblems and moldings

-repainting the truck a dark metallic gray or silver

-installing a cowl induction hood and roll pan

-installing a chip

-lowering the truck

-new wheels and tires

-brand new set of stock headlamps or HIDs for the projectors I put in after getting the truck (may go with the latter)

-full 3" exhaust with Edelbrock y-pipe

-get a spray on bedliner instead of the plastic one in it now

What we've done thus far:

-replaced the stock 350 with a GM 290 HP 350 crate motor (had to do some mods as this motor is not a direct replacement)

-installed a Holley Por-Jection intake manifold, Holley TBI, and phenolic spacer

-junked the stock fan and installed a dual electric fan setup

-swapped the stock air cleaner for a 14" open element setup with K&N filter (did this for budget purposes, but we are considering buying a system which uses a cone-style filter instead)

-got rid of the stock exhaust manifolds and put in a pair of JBA shorties

-replaced the stock stereo with a Pioneer CD player and upgraded the speakers all around to a set of Alpine Type-Ss
