I BOUGHT A SET OF DOUBLE HUMP HEADS WITH DIFFERENT CAST #'S. VALVES ARE SAME SIZE HAVEN'T CC'D IT YET. #'S ARE (1)3917291 1 27 7 (2)880462 L 30 6 ARE THEY WORTH REBUILD? WHAT DO I HAVE ? ANY REPLY WILL BE APPRECIATED!

IMO it is not worth it considering what you can get new heads for. You can get production Vortec heads that are far superior to the old double hump heads. If getting a new intake to match the Vortec heads bothers you(some people don't do it for that reason), then look into world products S/R heads or even heads from summit that are already done and have the larger 170cc intake runners. I'm not 100% sure but most of the old double hump heads i've ever seen were 156cc intake runners. Back in the 60's and 70's they were great heads, by todays standards they are not. I have seen guys put as much as $600 in old heads and for less than that they could have done a set of vortec heads. Don't get mixed up with people saying the 87-95 heads are vortec heads, they are not. Vortec heads have eight intake bolts all on the front and back of intake. none in the middle.

THANKS MAN I THINK I'LL GO NEW. ANY IDEAS ON THAT 880462 L 30 6 CAST NUMBER I CAN'T FIND AN 880 # IN ANY LIST. I'LL GET BACK WITH YOU I GOT TO RUN. THANKS AGAIN
