Well, I got home about 6 tonight and since it was about 70 out I pulled the car up by the garage in the shade and gave it a good wash job.  Only stuff we had laying around is some el cheapo junk (gotta go to the store for some more meguaires) but here's some pics of it, she shines up quite nicely:

I really wish it was legal to run around w/o a front plate, the car looks so much better w/ the pontiac cover on it.

My underhood *bling bling* gold paint job on the fender braces and engine mounts

The "grand prix" decals I added to the side a month ago, I'm gonna take off the GTP emblems from the doors and just leave it like that for a cleaner look.  And also, people won't know what they're up against in a race.

The rest of the pics are up at:

I'll have some more pics in a few days that I promised a while ago, but I just got my camera back last night.  I'm gonna swing by one of my friends houses tomorrow night (weather permitting) and get some shots of her w/ the car.  And no, it won't be me in a wig, despite that's what everyone is expecting.

Was that just a wash or did you wax it too? I spent 3 hours washing (zymol), waxing (meguires), and then polishing with maguires 7, my black silverado today. I didn't look half a shiny as the grand prix. What gives? Any suggestions?

except, tint those windows, would look so much better :D

no kidding, I'm trying to scrape together 200 bucks for window tinting and another 100 or so to get some dual chrome exhaust tips installed.

JR, I Just used Turtle wax car wash, only spent about an hour in all to clean it and dry it.  I did take off the grilles and sprayed them w/ a few coats of gloss black since the plastic was looking weather beaten and turning a bit white in spots.  I didn't wax it afterwards.  When I washed it, I did it in the shade and it was 70 out so the water didn't dry quickly, which allowed me to towel dry it and buff it a bit by hand w/ some towels.  I seem to get the same results w/ any kind of car wash.

Yeah, the power is the only reason I can overlook the fact that it's a car, not to mention all the nifty features like the HUD and the info center.

Mine actually will stay relatively clean for days since it get's parked underground at work and in the garage at home.  So long as it doesn't rain and get covered in waterspots I can go for a few weeks between washes.

Looks good Jon.  :D I really need to wash the truck, it has been over 4 months since I last washed it and after some off roading over the weekend, it is more gray then sunset orange.  I will have to get a pic of it one of these day.

BTW, I think your crazy, shorts when it is 70s degrees outside, thats just plain freezing...lol.  I think its the 110 - 118 degree weather here, we actually had a low temp the other day of 78 and I had chills.  95 sounds cold.  ugh... ???

c'mon, it wasn't too bad out in the sun w/ shorts on, but let me tell you, when I was washing the car in the shade and the overspray hit me I was cold.  We've had temps about 100 for the past few days so this has been a much deserved break.
