Speaker Problems

I have what I believe to be stock speakers in a 96 S10 with the stock radio/casette in my truck. Only the rear speakers (ext cab) are working. When the fade is turned to F (front) no sound can be heard. I looked in the door panel and in front speakers on dash and it looks like speakers are still in there, at least in the door panel. Is there something that normally causes this? Is there anything I can check to find out what might be doing this? Also if it might be related the power window up button does not function on the passenger side. I checked the fuses and they all seemed to be fine, but what is the exact number of the fuse I should check for this?
