Brake Controller

I am wondering if the brake controller plug in is the same on the 2008 as it is on the 2005. I currently have mine plugged in via a harness under the dash on the extreme left hand side.

No it is not, in 2008 they introduced the integrated brake controller as an option in all trucks with the tow package. When they did this, they stubbed the wiring for the controller into the left hand side of the dashboard - right where they mount their controller - on the lower part of the left hand side of the dash.

Thanks. I will probably just cut the harness that I have and splice the wires in. Too bad as it was nice just being able to plug it in and go.

The new connection isn't bad. It takes about 30 minutes, including connecting the brake and charging wire under the hood. Someone was kind enough to post the TSB for connecting the controller in this forum. If you do a search you'll find it. It's a good idea to find it before you start because you'll need to buy two metric nuts to make the connections under the hood. It's nice to have them handy when you start.
