In California, many of the popluar cars and trucks, really disappear, after 10 years. I talked to a car salesman, and found out a vehicle, can not be exported, until it is, 10 years old. I don't know the laws for that, so I thought I would get some input, on what you guys think, and have heard. California and Arizonia, used vehicles, are highly sought after, because of low rust. I've noticed, many american cars and trucks, in the middle east, from watching the news, and seing them in the background. I think, Mexico is also, purchasing a large amount, of our used vehicles. Not all of these, can be in junk yards, or in collector's garages, so what is going on? Are other countries, waiting to scoop up, the "great deals", on our slightly worn vehicles?

They get sent here to the midwest. Most of the guys I know what the 10 year old trucks and cars. Not the newer ones. 98 and earlier are very sought after years here.

Gotta stop doing that...they will tell you anything

As a Californian and through my extensive travels through this bizarre state that some from other parts of the country probably call another country anyway :D I can say that:

Mexico does love them, but there are a lot of cars produced there anyway. There are some cool cars and trucks you can't even get here. Baja probably gets some of the California cars

Where I am in Orange County, there is tons of money and people are leasing or turning over their cars well before their time. Older cars just seem to migrate out into different areas (desert communities, South LA, out of state, etc.)

who knows?

10+ year vehicles, I gotta agree, are coming to the Midwest. Why? Because we purchase vehicles, not lease them, and keep them until we drive them into the ground. There's a reason we're known as the 'rust belt' and it's not just because of the salt.

Well, I know where my old trucks are, by a carfax report. I had the vin. #'s and was shocked on my 98 Chevy. I had it, till 1999, and in 2003, the third owner, had an accident. Frame damage, Salvage Title, Red Flag warnings, all over the page. It was fixed and is still on the road. My 1985 Nissan 720, made it to Washington, near Canada. You can also look-up Smog test history, to see what location a truck at.
