I was reading some stuff a few days ago about the NHTSA investigating fires in most of the vehicles that are on this recall list. I wonder if the two things are related... If so, there's no way I am NOT getting the wiring harness replaced, with my truck being parking in my garage most of the time.

Hmm...have a dealer "mess" with a wiring harness or risk my vehicle being burnt to the ground. Tough decision. :uhoh:

What are some of you guys talking about...GET THE RECALL TAKEN CARE OF!!!

The next time I have snow on my windshield will be the first !

It's also good (although not anywhere near perfect at this) for getting bugs and other crap off the windshield in warmer climates :uhoh:

Well, I feel a little better. I went back and checked the sticker. I do have the heated mirrors, but not the heated washer fluid. Whew!

So that's what they are for ! :uhoh:

I've never turned them on so I'm not sure they even work. :D

Try testing it out in an open area. If you see smoke, they are sort of working :uhoh:

Mine work. One day filling up with gas, my son pushed the button. I guess it takes 30 seconds or so to heat up the water becuase when I got in, it started spraying the windshield and I thought something started smoking. It was just the steam from the heated water. Haven't used it again since then but might use it this winter if needed.

Very interesting! I wonder if the 2009s already on dealer lots will be affected?

Since all they are doing is installing an inline fuse I don't think that it is a large harness replacement. probably just the lines from the washer heater element to the BCM and battery.

This problem could very well be related to the NHTSA engine compartment fire investigation.

Hmm...good bonfire starter for this holiday weekend. 4 by it out to the beach and park it, turn the washer fluid button on and POOF! :D Instant party. :uhoh: The GM buys me an '09 with bluetooth or I wind up in jail :D:D:crazy:
