Hello from Ontario, Canada . I'm a new member with regards to posting on this site and just like to say this is a great forum for Truck enthusiast's . I have some pictures of my truck here ( not sure if they posted correctly !) but i do have a 2008 NBS Silverado crew Z-71. This is my second truck of this style i also had an Ext cab Z-71. As a GM employee i have been buying trucks now for 27 yrs ( all GM of course) and have to say my 07 and 08 are the very best of the 18 to 19 pick ups i have owned.

I'm a metalfinisher in the new Camaro bodyshop. Its a great job and the new Camaro is a work of art. I'm really proud to be part of the team here in Oshawa and really hoping things turn around with regards to the Oshawa truck plant. They really do build world class trucks.

What do you do for GM?

Cool,We have a few orders in for the new Camaro already here at the dealership.

 

And yes,The Oshawa truck plant does build quality trucks,I've personally had four from that plant ('94-'97-'99-'04) I also see them everyday here at our dealership.

 

BTW.....They tell us dealers regular production starts in Feb.,That still a go or could it be pushed-up/pushed-back any?

Thanks everyone for the cool GM Trucks.com welcome. As for the Camaro start up , as reported production is set for mid Feb and already 7,000 sold orders have been placed for the new 5thGen. I hope that date does not change however GM is set to make some type of announcement tomorrow with regards to future operations. I guess the only thing to do is keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best. The last thing we need to happen is more plant closing's either here in Canada or Stateside. All of my GM trucks weather built in the USA or Canada were outstanding vehicles and have never let me down. I spent 16 yrs in a local search and rescue team pulling 24,18, & 16 ' trailers plus my own landscape dump trailers and they were always rock solid. GO GM..
