My Stash Of Oil Filters (pics)

Silverado, Tahoe, and Impala Oil Filters. Anyone else have a stash like this or am I the only person who buys in bulk? (I couldnt fit them all in the drawer so I still have some tucked away in a box too.

I don't keep that many filters but I have enough oil to last a year and a half stashed in the garage.

I did that when they decided to discontinue the PF59 filters,I bought everyone I could because I didn't want to use the shorter PF46.

Then I ended-up getting rid of my '04 for my '07,and of course these new trucks use a PF48 and you can't use the PF59/PF46 because of the thread size difference.

I ended-up giving away the filters to a couple buddies of mine so they could use'em!

When I buy filters I usually buy 6 at a time as both my riggs 00 Chevy truck and 06 T.blazer take the same filter and Don't seem to ever run out of Mobil 1, but then everytime I'm at wallyworld I pick up a new 5qt container it sure has gone up in the last year.

They havent had the 5 qt jugs around here for a few months. I found costco had 6 individual qts for $31. Bought 1 case going back next week

The shorter ones are a PITA I hate the PF47 on my impala.

 

You can use the longer PF52 in place of the PF47,I do this on my Mom's Beretta and Dad's Lumina.

Wally world runs a sale whenever Mobil 1 changes their label. Last time I bought (12) 5qt jugs for $21/ each and saved about $1 a quart

Once I was hoarding oil filters. Many years ago when K-Mart was closing stores wholesale, I went to every one I could get to and cleaned out their supply of the M1-201 filters (fit the Olds I was driving at the time). Well... then I get the truck and wouldn't you know, the filter didn't fit - it takes the M1-206! Less than 2 years later, the car was totaled by a semi tearing the side off. I still had over 1/2 dozen of the M1-201's left that I couldn't use. So, I gave them to a friend that had a '96 Imp SS.

 

Now, I only keep about 3 filters around at a time. Now, on the other hand... oil's a different matter.

Yeah I am looking for a good price on a lot of PH9100's They really get me on oil since most containers come in 4 quarts when I need 10... I need to buy drums of oil cause I have been buying the Rotella oil and I am not finding it easily readable in quarts...
