I saw one years ago, in 1979 the guy who mananged Beeline Dragway in Phoenix AZ, was John Winston. He had a early 70 VW that he put a SB in the back seat, the radiator was mounted on the outside just below the back window. I don't remember how fast it when (I don't think it was that fast for what it was) but it was a hand full. As I think about it he used a powerglide trans and I think used a vette rear end. :D
