Fluid Amounts

On my 04 burb

 

I want to change the rear end fluid and the tranny pan and filter. How many qts do each of them take and can I use the new dextron VI in my 04 ??

Yes,You can use Dexron VI in your '04 (Its approved for all past applications calling for Dexron II/IIE/III)

 

The tranny will take 5 quarts if your just dropping the pan (This is for the 4L60-E tranny)

The rear-end will take just over 2 quarts (2.15 as per the service manual for the 8.625" rear-end)

I changed my rear diff fluid today. I was able to get about 2.75 qts in the rear diff.

 

Buy 3, and fill until it overflows out of the fill hole.

 

I used Royal Purple this time.
