Question Non Bose Amp And Speaker Install

Ok, so I just picked up a JL stealth box and a Boston acoustics GT 20 (2 channel) amp for my truck. I am having a little problem though, when I talked to the guy with the sub and amp I was under the impression that it was a GT 40 (4 channel) amp. My plan was to bridge the rear channels for my sub and run the other channels to some new front components. (I think that I'm going to use Boston SL 60's)

Now that I only have a 2 channel amp I'm not sure what to do. I don't want to spend much more money on this. I have already spent way more than planned (those damn stealth boxes are spendy!)

I do have an old rockford 2 channel amp sitting in my garage. I think that it is like 40x2 or something like that. Anyway lets get to the point. I would like to run both amps and use the rockford for the components and the gt 20 for the sub, but I have a buddy (who I think knows quite a bit about car audio) that says it will be a pain in the ass to run 2 amps. Like I would need a capacitor and some other shit.

What are your guy's thoughts? Will I be happy just pushing my components with my stock head unit or should I wire in the second amp? Also what exactly will I need to wire in two different amps?

If you are running components and a sub, it isn't abnormal to run 2 amps. I don't know that many people running one amp for all the above. I have two amps (one not in use yet, waiting on my sub box to arrive). I know others on this site running two amps without capacitors, but some have to. It depends on how many watts you are pushing. Garb runs about 900 watts in his '08 CC between two amps and hasn't had any dimming lights or other issues, so he hasn't needed a cap. You don't need much more to run two amps as long as one of them has pre-outs on it. You just run an RCA out of it to the other amp, tap into the same remote turn on wire, and you are set (assuming you are running a power distribution block and ground). Hope this helps
