Hi folks,

 

As you can see, this full-size forum is the most popular and active forum section on GM-Trucks.com. It covers quite a few models, platforms, brands, and technical areas.

 

Josh and I have been wondering.... how can we improve the full-size forum? Does it even need improving? Could we or should we separate the forum into trucks and suvs? Could we add brand specific or even model specific forums in addition to the full-size forum? Does anyone even care?

 

So- what do you think? What changes and/or improvements and/or additions do you think we should make to the full-size section?

I think the overall structure of the forums is good. Separating models/brands doesn't make sense since there are a lot of similarities. Moving SUVs to a different area might be beneficial... but again they have a lot of similiarties with the trucks. I don't think anything really needs to be changed. Only input I have is somehow categorizing different technical aspects together... powertrain, electrical, body, etc.

No change. Too many reasons to keep it together.

 

Most with newer trucks had the previous generations so can still chime in on those.

 

Most problems are common to trucks and SUV's too.

I vote only to change it to GMT400/GMT800/GMT900 but then that can get a little complicated...

Two points so far that I completely agree with. First being sepaerate 400/800/900 sections. The second is being able to read a snipit of the first post when you move the mouse over the title. I think if you were to seperate into drivetrain/electrical/etc., it would be way over complicated with the different models, whether or not they are seperated.

I wouldn't separate out the SUVs, since so much of the the SUVs and trucks are the same. Not a whole lot of difference between the extended cabs and a Suburban.

 

The highlights of the first couple of lines, as mentioned by others, is good.

How about locking the threads after a specified amount of time...

 

 

Why, what purpose would that serve?

Being a relative newbie here, I have gone back pgs and read posts and if I see something that perks my interest I may just reply to it?

This is the same format www.freedomsledder.com uses, I can't really see anything different between the 2 and that is a good thing imo, as I like both of these.
