Nav Trouble

hello i need help I use to have a 08 gmc slt but then decided to trade it in for an 09 gmc slt But the nav system wasnt the original from the 08 bought it from ebay but worked perfectly fine in the 08 but then got it unlocked for the 09 worked but the volume controls dont work on the steering wheel or the radio. please help do i need a 09 nav sytem or could it be the bluetooth sytem that the 09s have?

There could very well be software differences between the 08 and 09 models that are causing the problems. Have you loaded the latest nav DVD as it contains software updates for the Nav system?

no i have not ,so you think that could be the difference the nav cd?

I don't know anything about the Bluetooth system

 

I have read that there are "TWO" different AMPS for the trucks.

There is a "LUX" amp and a "NON LUX" amp.

The NAV unit has to match the type of amp or you get the problem of being unable to control the volume. (like you are having)

yeah i just found out the have 2 different is the analog and digital . 08 have digital amps and 09 have analog adn tha was the problem had it reprogrammed . Thanks for your help.
