so the truck is about to turn 3k on the clock...the truck says the enigine oil has 50% of its life left.....so should i change the oil at 3k or wait to til the truck says the oil needs changed.....also should i run standard 5w-30 or change it over to synthetic 5w-30?

I plan on changing mine out to Mobil 1 at around 500 miles. I changed my Tahoe at like 1500 and the oil was fairly dirty. Oil/filter is cheap for peace of mind that is my philosophy.
