Getting Rid Of Wax On Plastic

so every once in a while i get the ambition to wax my truck. but i always seem to get some on the black plastic, then it turns white. how do i get rid of that?

A good cleaner like Simple Green and a soft-bristled brush works for me. Even an old toothbrush would probably work if its a small area.

 

Another trick I learned was using dark colored wax. You don't notice it in all the little tight spots as much and it only looks gray when you accidently get it on your mirrors, mud flaps, etc.

Cheapest most effective way to fix that, Peanut Butter and a toothbrush. Works amazing I swear. Just make sure you wash the peanut butter off afterwards haha.

 

Edit: White eraser works ok... but not as well as PB

As in previous posts, I find effective:

a) Simple Green & girlfriend's toothbrush.

b) Good quality (white) eraser.

c) As a preventative measure: Masking off plastic areas where practical. PIA, but can save wax removal time overall.
