1999 5.3 go in 2007 gmc 4.8

I need some advice on if a 1999 5.3l will go into a 2007 Gmc Sierra with a blown 4.8l. Will the transmission bolt up? Motor mounts? Wireing? Need info asap about to buy this truck but don't want to if not going to work. THANK YOU!!!

1999 is cable throttle, 2007 is drive by wire. The electronics system between the two may differ quite a bit actually. ECM is different as well.

Fairly certain all the LS motors have the same bellhousing pattern ... & I would imagine the same for motor mounts .. but don't quote me on any of that.

 

My main concern would be the electronics. That's the big monkey wrench thrown into the works of what used to be a straightforward swap back in the day. That can be a royal pain in the ass ... and I would bet they're completely different from '99 to '07. There's ways around all of that if you're determined enough.

I have a 2007.5 4.8l I'm looking at a 2009 4.8l 8th Vin# is c on both. Will this just plug and play?
