I need to get my coilovers in. I'm having the exhaust done this weekend and my new rupes pilisher shows so you know I have to test it out. I'm hoping to get the coilovers in next weekend. Also I'm ordering new wheels in the next month1 point

That's pretty impressive but I've got you beat, when I fill up it says 640 miles and sure enough I'm able to do it. I drive around 650 miles a week. Generally I only have to fill up once. Truly amazed at the gas mileage I'm able to get with this full size V8 4wd truck. Love reading about the high mileage stories, and now that these things are a few years older the mileage on some of these things will be very high. That's the thing about full size Chevy trucks, people use them for all sorts of things....work, commuting, towing, weekend fun, plowing. Someone on this thread said his friend has 300,000 miles on his already, that's crazy but I believe it. Know a guy who drives his truck 200 miles a day for an HVAC company...just rolls right down the highway, from job to job.1 point

I don't plow and only tow occasionally so I may not be a accurate judge on brakes for these trucks. I have 40k miles on my truck and the brakes have more than 1/2 left on the pads. The rotors are still smooth with no serious grooves . I service the brakes twice a year though.1 point

Ran the truck last weekend with the EVA again, still a 14hz frequency vibration around 70 which indicates a road speed (Tire speed) vibration. Going to tear into the front and check run out on parts up there, see if anything jumps out as I have mostly ignored the front end short of new rotors.1 point

Hey guys, New to the forum and I’ve got to say thanks because I was able to get a good idea of what I wanted to do to my truck by scrolling through all the awesome trucks on here. Here is my new to me 2014 GMC Sierra SLT. I use my bed everyday so I opted to do the 2” Motofab Level to maintain a bit of rake. Really happy with the way it turned out. Before and After:1 point

I hear ya man, ya I was all about 4.5 - 6 inch lift as soon as I snagged my rig as well lol. I'm really glad I just went with a 2.5 lvl. I have young kids and pull a 21' scout all over the planet. So a lol for me was more practical. As for your wheel and tire dilemma, I am running a 20x9 0 offset with a 295/55R20 Ridge Grappler. Actual measurements are 32 7/8" tall and 12" wide. I get only slight rubbing on the plastic at the back of the fender at full lock with a touch of articulation. My setup sits as flush as can be with only the sidewall outside the fender. I like this because the water base paint that the EPA now requires will vacate rather quickly without fender flares lol. I hope this helps brother. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk1 point

Dropped my truck off at the dealer to get the AC fixed, still under warranty!! They put me in a 2018 Silverado as a loaner, probably to try and persuade me into trading mine in since it only has 35k miles. It's nice but the only difference is the front end, interior is the same as mine, can't believe nothing has changed in 3 years.1 point

Finish installing the dashboard and doors panel trim pieces with painted gloss black trim. Turned out a lot better than what I thought since I had them as extras I still have the gray ones just in case.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Just got my Leer 100XL topper installed last weekend. Went with the removable sliding front window, electronic lock, and tracks for a future roof rack. So glad I read up on here about toppers before I bought, otherwise I probably wouldn't have went with the removable window. Was on some dusty roads this weekend and I was surprised how much dirt collected between the cab and topper windows. So nice and easy to just remove the window to clean. I'm loving it so far! LED strips going in this weekend for interior light.1 point

Not for my truck, but the next one will be. Wired up this 6 relay/fuse box for additional accessories. Simple power, ground, switch input and accessory output connections. I've got a circuit breaker for the main power also. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk1 point

Had a couple of hours to burn... DVD/BluRay Retrofit - Work in Progress. The Cd Player has a different input connector than the DVD/BluRay so I had to do some repinning. While at it, I added the JL Audio Bass Knob, new RCA Cables for the Axxess DSP, and new Glove Box. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Performed the Front Seat Lateral Movement and/or Click Type Noise Bulletin. Bulletin # PI1366. justin101714 for the bulletin # and advice. Took about 30 minutes and $18. I’m still under warranty but doing it myself versus losing a day leaving it with the dealer was worth it. I can also share pics of the work everyone here [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

We just took our 96 dodge to the scrap yard a little over a month ago, with just shy of 385,000 on it. Husband probably would have kept it longer, but the motor and tranny both went out in it(was worked like a dog hauling massive scrap loads, obviously not good on a half ton pickup). Will be a while before we hit 300,000 again, he currently has a 96 ford with just under 200,000, and I have an 06 sierra with 168,000. I've also included the only picture I have, taken just before the poor thing was flattened.1 point

Stock tires are always a POS anyways. I usually swap them out within 500 miles. People will buy your tires. I got $400 for my new take off tires.1 point

Because 22's are for skating in style down the concrete freeways, so you typically see low-pro street/highway tread patterns. If you off-road with a low-profile sidewall on a 22" wheel, you will damage the wheel eventually. Even my 20's are too big for my liking when doing truck things. I am sure you can buy a BFG KO2 or something in a 22" if you want, but if it is the stock tire size and you run over a 4" rock, say goodbye to your beads. You will find more 22" options when you do to a 33" or larger tire, which would require a level or lift. Let us know what you end up doing.1 point

@Texas Daddy, LOL. So you are saying that water has never gotten past the seals and went down the drains from the sunroof frame on your vehicles??? Yes newer vehicles/seals do a better job at keeping water from entering but they ALL have drains because it is normal for water to enter and they are just controlling the leak. I'm not saying that all leaks will flood your floorboard, I am simply stating that water does leak passed the seals as car washes are a very common culprit in this. I am also not saying that all the drains fail but whenever they do fail, it causes a mess. You apparently have been fortunate enough as well to not have a drain become clogged or disconnected, congratulations. If someone wants the option for a panoramic roof or sunroof, fine. I don't care for either for various reasons besides the leaking aspect. All I ask for is if GM does eventually offer a panoramic roof, please don't make the option required in order to get other options or trim levels, like manufactures already do including GM.1 point

That seems pretty good to me. That's alot of miles with very little problems. That's about when I would do all my fluid changes and tune up. It amazes me how many people do that stuff so early. That many miles no catch can? How could that be possible. Lol1 point

Pre Pretty big leap going political. Political Correctness is when you stop doing something for fear that it may result in someone being offended by way of potential association. Being compassionate is when you refrain from rubbing shit in someones face. I do not think the OP intended the post to be bad, nor do I think we view it as something that should be offensive to everyone that has lost someone to a vehicle accident. Given the information, the vehicle as-is in the photo shows the temporary casket for 2 members of a family. They likely do not want to be confronted with the image on the news or any website, so it is compassionate to not help propagate it. Heck, I do not think some of the community would be any where near as concerned/bothered if the photo was of the truck opened up after the bodies were recovered. To be politically correct, we would demand that no accident photos be published. The point is we can be compassionate without "surrendering our flag."1 point

There had to be a stationary object in front of the truck to have rolled the two frame rails. Even then, this is pretty improbable. But if so, the aluminum vs steel argument is pointless. When God says He's ready for ya, titanium/carbon fiber ain't gonna help. Back to...I think this is someone's creative work...1 point
