  1. I used the Pro Clip on my other truck and a great holder. A question on the wireless charging compartment, the manual says it gets hot. How hot does it get? I've been told the sound is much better through the speaker system with Apple Carplay/Android Auto vs. Bluetooth. Apologies OP, don't mean to hijack the thread.
  2. As my truck came with the Kooks LTs and Y-pipe, I decided on S&B CAI and left the plug in. It's a pretty tame exhaust note, with the factory exhaust. The size of that filter is just big enough. lol
  3. Your truck is really shaping up with nice mods. Congrats. I'm waiting until you get to the decision of dyno-tuning alternatives. I have the LTZ with the Kooks LTs and Y-pipe. Still deciding on the manufacturer for the rest of the exhaust. Two things I know I want is, stainless and converting OE tips to duals. The price for HP Tuners, with my local tuner is a bit crazy. With our trucks (2019+), send in ECM, wait a week for return after programming and then it can be tuned. est. $3k+ Still though, I'm still researching alternatives for the dyno-tuning route.
  4. Which brand was this one? I may try one of the stubbies, but I've also looked at some of these taller versions. The only wire wrapped ones I came across, was of the OE whip style.
  5. Looks like for convenience, I'll be buying the WIX WL10255XP locally, but in 5k miles will try the Amsoil filter. Thread reminds me when I had my 2003 GMC SD (6.0L), bought in '05 and recently sold. When I did that truck's oil/filter change, the OE filter size I thought was as small as the V4 and V6 Toyotas I owned prior. Soon after, when I learned about the larger filter replacement, the truck ran much smoother (with full synthetic oil). My oil change/filter change interval was ~5k and sold that truck with 165k. I did a diagnostic on the engine shortly before selling, as it was the last thing I hadn't really worked on, besides spark plug/wire change, LS6 valley pan exchange and CAI. The engine internals were happily still within spec, with no leaks and that's with putting the truck through it's paces of towing and moderate/aggressive driving styles. Interested to see how this 6.2L compares.
  6. Excellent, thanks all! A little more research into the marine and ham radio industries, to see if anything applicable, before I decide. I did manage to have an old thread come up, that didn't from my original search -
  7. I have the Silverado LTZ and I'm wondering if anyone has looked into this or knowledge of replacing these antennas, with either aftermarket of other GM models that would work, without losing anything. I'm still learning this truck and don't know if this antenna is specific to the model. Wouldn't think so, but I ask anyways and my issue with mine is it's a couple inches too tall when coming in or out of my garage. Being in Florida, I have high wind brackets on my garage door and the antenna hits the bracket. Thanks in advance for any information that can be passed along.
  8. On my LTZ, they call it the TiXCF (Chevy) skid plate BRT, but it had the front license plate bracket and I didn't like the look. P/N 84176756 (Chrome) It's two screws on each end, with many friction clips around the perimeter of the part. I used ramps to elevate the truck and had a good view and access of the piece from behind. I was able to pry up each clip and loosen, but the ones in the center around the license plate bracket. In my case, I could pry up the clip end, but was unable to push the clips free from debris buildup. Unfortunately I decided to break off the tabs to pull of the skid plate. Cleaned up the bumper prior to installing new piece and snapped right in and reused the screws on the end to secure.
  9. Nitto 420V 275 55 20 with 20 x 8.5 (+6) Centerline Tomahawks Stingray III I like the look of the 285 or 295 x 60 with a moderate 2" front lift on these trucks.
  10. On my Chevrolet version, I had Xpel installed on those side pieces, along with a partial on the hood that goes up about a third (19" about). I went with film on the headlights and LED marker and see how that works out. 5 year ceramic also. I talked with the installers on what they felt looked best and because I was only doing a partial, I asked to have the film that comes down over the fender, cut at approximate same angle as those side pieces that wrap around.
  11. A bit of wind buffeting today, finally found a decent place to record. This factory set-up sucks. I do like Magnaflow and Corsa tone, but like the look of dual pipes out the back. Borla also nice.
  12. Sold my 2003 SD QS I had for 16 years and decided on this used 2019 LTZ in Northsky Blue Metallic/Gideon Very Dark Atmosphere, with 7K on the odometer. Been awhile since I had my favorite color and the interior color I took a liking to. Previous owner installed the Kooks LT headers/Y pipe and had ordered the Brembo 6-piston package with the truck. Hoping to find a good tuning option to the HP Tuner option and SS lines for the brakes, but have installed the S&B CAI. Quick pics
  13. Good look and I like the 285s on the truck. Currently running 275 55 20 from my sold off 2003 Sierra Denali. I couldn't let go of my forged Centerline Tomahawks. Originally had 275 60 20, which went to the SD and think I'll be going back to a 285 60 20, if my Nitto 420s ever wear out.
  14. I was told yesterday while at the dealerships, the Ford and GMC truck plants were temporarily down, with the Silverado still running for now, with an approximate 15 week wait if ordering right now. The Ram plant I can't confirm their truck production status. With the above issues posted, it was still the umbrella of COVID, adding to the mix of unsurety. The Corvette plant had just started back again, with a 18 month wait time. A guy standing there, waiting to receive his, mentioned he had ordered his 2020 Vette, back in November 2019. FWIW, I'm so on the fence between the 3.0L and 6.2L. The one looming concern with the 3.0L, is the 150k service.
