Hey guys!!

i am looking for some-more light out-put for nighttime driving! a few close calls with a couple bull moose is enough for me.

i would def go HID's but being in trouble with the law and going to court over them in the past to fight tickets i'm not going with them at this point.. ( i have Dillweed Cops around home ) once i move i will test the waters with the HID's but thats not anytime soon

now from what i have researched i am either looking at a bull bar with lights on it or install lights behind the grill..

i have seen a few pics of the GMT900 chevs with the lights behind the grill but is anyone running the lights behind the grill on the GMC's????

your vote on the bull bar with lights or behind the grill and if u have pics post them up..

Thanks in advanced

:)

There are some good HID kits out there that don't stand out like the silly ricers and rednecks tend to use to attract attention. Don't discount HID's just yet. If you do it right, it will look stock so how would the cops know? And what is illegal about using HIDs as long as they are aimed and adjusted properly?

I would also look into the Fog (Driving Lights) light mod (the two lights that are down low in the bumper which people *think* are fog lights but there is nothing about them that makes them fog lights) A few folks here have done some custom conversions to Sylvania Silverstar bulbs and really enjoy it. There is a good post in this forum somewhere that I saw a few weeks ago that has some good info so look for it! I try to avoid putting lights in the grill as I like as much air to hit the engine as possible and I think lights in the grill look silly. (my opinion) Lights on a bullbar or grill guard is good too! Best of luck!

Bull bar lights... or you can mount em on the roof or if you have a headache rack, you could mount them there...

One of the members put some retangular driving/fogs in the front valance where the recesses for the tow hooks are. Looked good if you're willing to give up the tow hooks

The stock housings on the GMT-900 pickups work pretty well as a projector setup. Personally, I think swapping the stock bulbs for HID's would draw less attention than "adding" lights..

i agree, not to mention that an excessive amount of lights doesnt look to good imo. ive got 6000k hids in my 08 sierra, havent had anyone flash me yet, so i think u might be ok as far as getting pulled over and what not

HIDs are illegal if they are not OEM.

If people think they are fog lights, then people must think fog is out all the time here where there is like 1 partial day of fog every 2-3 years. People run with them on all the time, doesn't matter what the environment is like. In the city all that stuff should be illegal to be on.
