Trans Flush?

Recommended Posts

Posted

We had our trans flushed at the dealer @ 100,000kms/62500miles and will be soon due again @ 150,000kms/93750 miles. Should we do the GM Flush again, or should I drop the pan and just do the pan fill? Will the cross member have to come out to do it?? Could I put a suction gun down the pan and suck it out that way?

Is their an aftermarket pan that has a plug in it already?

I'd drop the pan and replace the filter and refill. There are aftermarket pans with plugs in them

Is the gasket just put on dry like the rear diff?? I assume since it is a 1500, that it is the 4L60E?? What companies would you recommend??

The filter hard to get off??

I priced a pan today, and for the hell of it, I checked online, and was waaaay cheaper.

But, is this the correct pan??

In that link, and in the GM manual, it says to tap it with a mallott (sp?), where do you tap it?? the flat part of the pan, bottom I mean??

Am I going to have a tough time putting a deep(er) pan back in??
